I just got a new cd rom / cd writer / dvd rom installed in my computer after the old one failed. This one reads cd’s at 52X (so did the old one, actually), but some of my cd’s (not all of them, but some), make horrible rattling and whining noises when at the lowest speeds. My Tiger Woods game is nearly unplayable because of this (it’s so horrible to listen to). This didn’t happen in my old CD rom (which, by the way, was also 52X). What’s wrong here? Any suggestions?
So should I just try to switch the game for a different CD..or is it the CD drive that needs switching?
